Three cheap air mattresses were lying on the polished hardwood floor, and all of my designer dresses had been tossed out of the closet.<\/p>\n

And my bed, my beautiful and expensive bed, was completely gone from the room.<\/p>\n

But my husband was completely serious, and there was no hint of humor in his dull eyes.<\/p>\n
Evelyn approached me then and smiled with a level of false sweetness that made my skin crawl.<\/p>\n
