“Although I think my mother’s enjoying this too much.”

I turned toward him.

He looked embarrassed.

“She ordered another one yesterday.”

My husband sighed before muttering, “Me.”
I stared at him.
Then I burst out laughing.

This time, he laughed too.

“FINALLY! A JOKE WORTH LAUGHING AT!”
Tyler read the message and started laughing.

My birthday hadn’t gone how I’d hoped. But I learned something important.
I didn’t need to change my body to deserve kindness.
And Tyler learned that being funny wasn’t about doing it at someone else’s expense.
Sometimes, the best joke was the one that reminded you to treat people better.
