Rep. Brittany Pettersen: Trump’s mass firings of agents weakened U.S. intelligence and led to a deadly missile strike on a girls’ school!
Colorado Rep. Brittany Pettersen (D) tore into the Trump administration on a talk show with Cosima of CTA, accusing them of dismantling U.S. intelligence capabilities through mass firings and funding cuts, which resulted in outdated intel that caused the deadly Tomahawk missile strike on an Iranian girls’ school, killing about 175 children.
Pettersen said the White House lied by claiming it wasn’t America’s responsibility, even though reports confirm it was a U.S. missile: “The way the administration chose to handle it was to basically say that it wasn’t America … and the reports say that that was unlikely.”
She connected the dots to Trump’s broader failures: “One of my colleagues made the connection with firing our leading people in our intelligence agencies, dismantling the critical skills and experience that these people have had for decades.
“We were cutting funds instead of investing in the necessary support.”
Pettersen called mass firings in the name of “government efficiency” is “absolutely the opposite” and the whole approach is immoral.
“We can’t trust them, and it is very scary to think of him trying to navigate us through this very difficult situation that he’s put us in.”
While Trump shrugs off casualties as a “little excursion” and his energy czar admits it’s about seizing oil, Pettersen’s outrage nails the incompetence: weakened intel means deadly mistakes, gutting the tools necessary to properly implement a war no one asked for anyway.
If Pettersen’s fury over Trump’s gutted intelligence leading to a school massacre hits home, like and share to demand accountability.
