My Daughter Walked Into My Bedroom Crying at Two in the Morning, Clutching Her Stomach. “Mom, There Are Little Fish Swimming Inside Me.” At the Hospital, Doctors Found 36 Magnets, and My Husband Asked, “What Did You Do to Her?”

PART 1

“Mommy, I have little fish swimming in my tummy, and they are biting me,” my five-year-old daughter whispered softly.

Nancy appeared in my bedroom doorway at two in the morning, drenched in cold sweat and completely doubled over in pain. Her golden hair was plastered to her sweat-soaked forehead, and one small hand was pressed tightly against her midsection. At first, I foolishly thought she was just waking up from a bad nightmare. I picked her up gently, touched her forehead with my lips, and verified that she didn’t have any fever. But when I tried to lay her down on the mattress, she let out a moan so deep that it instantly chilled me to the bone.
