My husband, Ernest, died on a cold Tuesday in February.

I buried him in his best white shirt, with his rosary wrapped around his fingers and a photograph from our trip to Key West tucked inside his pocket. In that picture, he was smiling while I laughed beside him, unaware that anyone was taking our photograph.
